SCOTT RADIATION ONCOLOGY CENTER
The Scott Radiation Oncology Center, dedicated to the founder of Scott Radiological Group, Inc., Wendell G. Scott, M.D., is located at the JRMC Cancer Care Center at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. The Cancer Center is the most comprehensive cancer care center in the Jefferson County area. The 9500 square foot center was designed to meet the specific needs of cancer patients. The physicians and staff are experienced in the field of cancer care and treatment. The Cancer Center also includes medical oncology offices and a cancer resource room.

The Scott Radiation Oncology Center is technologically advanced. It features a Varian 2100C, which is a computer controlled, dual-energy linear accelerator with a multi-leaf collimater. This enables treatment of multiple types of cancer using electron and photon radiation beams. A record and verify computer system allows maximal computer control over the radiation treatments. The Center has CT simulation capability and a three dimensional treatment planning computer system. This allows conformal radiation therapy which delivers radiation to tumors while avoiding normal tissues and organs. The center has PET/CT image fusion capability which allows the Radiation Oncologist to simultaneously use multiple diagnostic imaging modalities in the design of radiation treatment. Scott Radiation Oncology also offers Intensified Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and brachytherapy services. IMRT further enables normal tissue avoidance over conformal radiation therapy for highly irregular organ and tumor geometries.

The Center is designed for efficient and personal patient care. Dr. O'Leary and staff take great pride in the high quality of treatment delivered at the caner center.
